Postpartum Care
What is postpartum care?
Doula care wouldn’t be complete without postpartum. The fourth trimester runs from birth through six weeks after delivery, and it is just as important as the other three trimesters. Your body has just gone through one of the most magnificent accomplishments and greatest challenges of your life. Now is the time for you, along with a doula, to nourish and honor your body and mind.
What does postpartum care include?
Care begins before birth. We are about empowering you with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys because they are all connected. We set you up for the fourth trimester and offer care tailored to your needs. Our doulas offer support during the day and overnight hours. We can help you choose which package is right for your journey and determine if additional care is needed.
What are the benefits of postpartum care?
The support a postpartum doula provides can have a lasting and important impact on the family. Postpartum support provides families with increased confidence in their roles and a greater satisfaction in the parenting experience. Postpartum doulas provide essential support to help families get the best possible start with their new baby. The benefits include:
- Hands on assistance with everyday tasks, big and small
- Decreased symptoms of postpartum depression, anxiety, PMADs and other mental health struggles
- Emotional & Practical support, self & infant care, partner/father support, meal prep, light household tasks, and overnight sleep
- Research shows moms, dads, and babies have an easier time with transition if a good support team is in place
